Daniel and the Lions’ Den Coloring Pages
To supplement this story, I’ve included three free Daniel in the Lion’s Den coloring pages with a Bible verse for each coloring page.
The three Bible verses chosen are easy to learn and a great way to help kids of all ages to memorize the three verses from God’s Word.
These include:
-
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. (Psalm 56:3)
-
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1)
-
The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped. (Psalm 28:7a)
All three Bible verses have been taken from the New King James translation.
I’ve shared my heart on memorizing Bible verses earlier. I truly believe a child is not too young to learn and treasure to memory Scripture.
If you’re looking for easy ways to help your child memorize Scripture, here are 5 ways I’ve used to help my kids and the kids I teach in Sunday School.
Feel free to use these for your child, in your Sunday School classroom, Bible study group, or your homeschool co-op.

Daniel in the Lions Den Song
Here’s a sweet song with actions titled “Shut The Lions Jaw“.
Another fun way to remember the story of Daniel and what happened when he got thrown into the den of lions.
Lions Den Menu
If you like going all out with this Sunday School lesson favorite, here are a few “Lions Den Menu” recommendations:
- This cute mini lion animal snack
- Pretzel sticks (lions whiskers)
- Animal crackers (Well, lions are carnivores, right? Ha! But for a tamed-down reason for this snack choice could be a “Find the Lion” in the box and get a lion sticker game!)
- Not-so-healthy snack idea (a favorite from my childhood!) – Lions chocolate bars

I recommend using white multi-purpose paper while printing these pages, but if your child would like to put it up like a poster, white cardstock would be a better choice, for durability.

This easy, creative craft helps children remember the Parable of the Sower lesson. The printable lesson plan includes the craft tutorial, story outline, and a free coloring page with a Bible verse to memorize. This is one of my favorite Sunday School crafts. This symbolic bracelet holds representative colors of faith, to remind children of their faith journey with the Lord. While the sticky surface crosses are the easiest to work with, you can do this craft with simple white card stock, a glue stick, and colored tissue paper from your old gift bags! This easy craft will help little ones remember the story of the Fiery Furnace as written in the book of Daniel, chapter 3. This craft may be customized based on the story you're teaching. For example, you could also cut out arch shapes to make rainbows while sharing the story of Noah While this craft requires a little prep work beforehand, especially if used for young kids, this is a craft that has such a special impact and symbolic meaning. The Psalm 23 craft may be broken into a few weeks as you study each verse in the Psalm or introduced and sent home as a "work-at-home" craft. While the Cross craft in this feature is larger and more of a family activity, a smaller version may be made with card stock or using sticky paper crosses. Hosanna Branch Wavers are the perfect craft for your preschoolers and toddlers. It's always so much fun to bring the "Hosanna" story to life with these! An easy way to make a palm cross out of paper. This is a great craft for older kids. These two easy fish crafts may be used when teaching kids the story of creation (Genesis 1) or the story where Jesus calls the disciples to become fishers of men (Matthew 4).Sunday School Printables
