Introducing Exodus 14 to your child? This simple but sweet craft is a great way to remember the story of Moses and the Red Sea Crossing.
The story of Moses, the Israelites, and the Red Sea Crossing is a favorite Bible story taught to kids of all ages. It’s easy to find coloring pages for stories like this one, but finding a craft can be tricky, especially if you need a simple one that doesn’t require a lot of craft elements.
We have a large number of 1st-4th graders who attend our Sunday morning services. When creating crafts for our kids, I try to ensure a few things are followed:
- The kids have a fun visual reminder of the story taught that Sunday.
- The craft is simple enough for all ages to accomplish with little to no help.
- We make the most of the least number of craft supplies to ensure we’re stewarding our resources carefully.
If you serve in Kids Ministry, this simple but easy Moses and the Red Sea craft will work great for the kids who walk into your spaces.
Even if you’re printing this for one child or two, this printable craft can double up as a coloring page that fits conveniently on that lap desk when making a road trip, or even while waiting to pick up older siblings in the car pick-up line.

See the picture below for reference.
Encourage the child to have the craft ready before the story is shared. This way, they can open the waves to show Moses and the Israelites walking through when you tell them how God instructs Moses to use his rod. (Exodus 14:16)
Also included in the printable is a Bible verse you could use as the memory verse for the lesson:
“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:14)
