How could anyone turn down music-themed snacks, right?
And if they’re chocolate music-themed snacks, then…
SCORE!!!
My kids couldn’t wait to watch SING, the animated musical comedy, and while we generally wait for about a week after a movie opens to go watch it on the big screen (to avoid the crowds), this time would be the exception.
We planned to surprise the kids with tickets for the movie on opening week, and I thought one fun way to do this would be with music-themed snacks.
How to make these SING inspired Chocolate Covered Music Themed Snacks
Ingredients required to make approximately eight to ten 2 1/2 inch sized music note snacks:
3 cups Golden Crisp cereal
2 cups mini marshmallows
2 tbsp butter
1 bar of dark chocolate or milk chocolate. (I used the remains of a broken chocolate reindeer.)
1. Melt butter in a pan, over a low heat.
2. Add the marshmallows to the pan and keep stirring till the marshmallows melt completely.
3. Once done, take the pan off the stove, set it on the counter or table, and add the Golden Crisp cereal to the marshmallow-butter mix.
You can enlist the assistance of little helpers at this time.4. Once the cereal is well coated and everything is well combined, place the mixture in a greased non-stick square baking tray or a tray lined with wax paper.
5. Set the tray aside to cool for at least 15- 20 minutes or so before cutting into it with your music note cookie cutters.
6. Dependent on how well close you cut the shapes, you should get more than 8 music notes if using the 2.5″ quaver cookie cutter.
7. Once your shapes are cut out, melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring after each to check if the same is melted.
You can cover the whole quaver with chocolate or just part of it, based on preference.
Aren’t these cute?
