As a child I remember my mother making adorable egg men for lunch. They would sit there with there clove eyes on the side of my plate till I finished my entire meal. Why? Because I had this thing growing up…I’d gobble up the things I didn’t take a fancy to first and then slowly savor my favorites on the plate at the end!

With FROZEN continuing to be the rage thanks to FROZEN FEVER coming out and the announcement of a FROZEN 2 in the works, this Easter, would you bring Olaf to your table?

These are so easy to make and worth putting your food crafting hat on to see your kids’ faces light up when you bring your Olaf inspired egg men to the table.

To make your “Olaf” men, you will need boiled eggs, raw carrot sticks, raw zucchini, cloves, a knife, mini drink umbrellas and a ‘bed’ of spinach for the egg men to sit on.

I’ve taken pictures step-wise to make this easy to follow.

This would be a fun activity for the kids to do for a pre-Easter or Easter brunch. The key is to remember to allow them to be creative with their egg men. There’s no perfect Olaf standard.

My 2 Olaf men are proof of that!! 1 of my men suffered an egg-shell removal casualty, hence the bumps on his face!

Mommy tip for the day: Don’t forget to add baking soda and salt while making your hard-boiled eggs. Adding both will ensure the eggs don’t crack while boiling and will help you remove those egg shells easily. (Sigh! Guess who forgot to do this?)

This Easter would you also consider putting together a FROZEN themed Easter basket of fun for a child who may not be as fortunate as your own, be it from a financial stand point or health-wise?

Walmart has some great gifts, both small and big, to fill that FROZEN themed basket for you. And yes, the Easter baskets, dolls, books, puzzles, costumes, dress-up accessories and other toys are affordable.

Several items are on roll-back as well, like the animated Olaf-A-Lot toy. (He’s sure to provide a few smiles to a child going through a rough patch in health)

I’d love to know if you have carried forward any childhood traditions for your kids?

  1. I like this Olaf inspired egg man and need to make these with my niece and nephew for Easter. They like Frozen and the characters that go with this movie.

  2. I have never seen egg men, but my 4 year old would certainly love this, just because it’s Olaf. For Easter, we dye eggs every year on the night before the holiday. It’s a tradition my parents started and we have carried it on with our kids (we also did it pre-kids!).

  3. I know it’s been done to death, but we keep the Easter egg hunt going strong in my family. It’s so much fun to watch the kids run around searching for their little treasures.

  4. Our family is Jewish, so we have a TON of family traditions that our stepped in our faith. It’s a great way to stay connected to your roots.

  5. I’m kind of sad that I’ve never heard of egg men before! These little guys are really cute and I can see my girls being excited about them – they would be a good addition to the classic Easter stuff we do like dying eggs and an egg hunt.

  6. You’re so creative! Those Olaf eggs came out so perfectly, and I want to make some over here too.

  7. The kids look forward to our annual family Easter Egg Hunt. Something my parents did for us and our best friends. We loved it then and the kids and their cousins look forward to it every year.

  8. These are cute! Maybe drawing on eyebrows with edible food coloring markers would make it even better! I wonder if that would work on eggs?

  9. For Easter, we always received a new bathing suit & beach towel. It was a fun way to kick off spring! I’m sure Olaf would love that in his basket as well, considering his love for sunshine.

  10. I’ve carried forward a few childhood traditions for my kids. Mainly around Christmas, like when we make reindeer food.

  11. Those ehh men are super cute. They remind me of all the new little snowmen that Elsa makes in the second Frozen movie. Adorable.

  12. I don’t really have any Easter traditional from my childhood that I’ve carrier forward. Your egg men are super cute – and thanks for the tip about salt and baking soda in the water so the eggs don’t crack. I’d never heard that one before!

  13. Those egg men are so cute! We have a carrot cake at Easter, which is a tradition we had when I was a kid.

  14. I have a few traditions that I have done with my own kids, but they mostly revolve around the holidays.

  15. What an adorable idea! You’re right it would make a good crafty activity for my kids to do.

  16. These are adorable and would definitely be well received by my kids! I especially appreciate that the entire treat involves healthy foods.

  17. When I was a kid, my siblings and I always got a basket from the “Easter bunny.” This tradition is being carried on with niece and nephew.

  18. My mom always created an Easter basket from something for each of us to make it unique for each child. I’ve done that for the kids, using oatmeal cartons, bowls, cracker boxes and so on. Olaf Egg Men are on the horizon for this Easter. It’s always fun to eat something appealing.

  19. My kids LOVE hard boiled eggs and they would go crazy for these. What cute idea to make them like Olaf.

  20. Those are ridiculously cute! My daughter would eat a dozen boiled eggs if I let her. I gotta try making these for her. She’ll go nuts.

  21. I love those Olaf Egg Men! I really haven’t carried on any (Easter) traditions. Mostly because it’s just my kids and they don’t like to egg-hunt alone.

  22. Those eggs are too cute and your basket is amazing! I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t want to receive that on Easter!

  23. Those eggs are cute! We always colored eggs and then my mom would hide those eggs outside for us to find Easter morning. I’ve altered it a bit, we still color eggs but I hide plastic ones inside instead.

  24. That Olaf is super cute! I’ll have to do that this Easter, but my kids don’t eat hard boiled eggs (but I do!). We dye eggs and we do an Easter egg hunt like I used to do as kid….

  25. The only tradition we have carried on is doing an Easter egg hunt for the kids!

What cute Frozen items to add to the Easter baskets!

  26. How cute I try to do most things and traditions I did as a kid with mine. It’s fun and what I know.. Easter we just hang out as a family and enjoy a nice big dinner. Nothing special!

  27. I haven’t carried forward any Easter traditions. But I do like your Frozen Eggmen.

  28. I have baked and cooked with my kids since they were little just like my Mom did with me. It is a great tradition in our house. Every Sunday is baking day.

  29. That egg is just adorable! It’s so creative and perfect for some of those Easter eggs we’ll have.

  30. Awww. I love Olaf. Love eggs too. Thats such a fun and cute way to make them. I think kiddo would like this a lot.

  31. How cute! I’m going to my m-i-l’s for Easter and all the nieces and nephews will be there and I know they’d love this, so I’m going to make me some Olaf eggs to take. I bet they will be a big hit! 🙂

  32. O-Laf! We don’t have an Olaf in the house (except for a poster). What a great idea to get him for the Easter basket!

  33. I didn’t have too many family traditions growing up. So I determined to change that for my little guys! They would love to create their own Olaf inspired Eggman.

  34. That’s a clever way to get kids to eat their eggs! I’ll have to try with my daughter

  35. Oh that is a really cute idea! We didn’t do baskets growing up because neither of my parents were raised doing that. Easter day also isn’t the big day like it is here, but the events throughout the week are more important and celebrated.

  36. Awww! You Olaf eggs are adorable! We’ll make some for sure. One tradition that we have is making and eating Grandma’s cinnamon rolls. The recipe is 50+ years old and I only make at Easter.

  37. How innovative and creative and just in time for Easter too…..the Frozen touch is just fab and will be a hit with children and grandbabies …thank you for sharing and the step by step instructions…just lovely!

  38. It’s so true, we always think of donating during Christmas, but not during Easter. I love the thought of putting together baskets for more needy people. I also love your Olaf eggs, they’re so cute! #client

  39. What an awesome way to get the kids to eat hard boiled eggs and raw veggies.
