The best way to celebrate National Pecan Day

It is said that over 80% of the world’s pecan supply comes from the US.

Pecans are actually a great heart-healthy snack to munch on as is. It’s packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Its zinc content is enough to provide nearly 10% of the daily recommend intake of zinc required by each of us.

If you prefer eating your pecans in something, here are a few ways you can enjoy the same…

Bake a delicious pecan  bread from scratch, taking your pick between a berrylicious Strawberry Pecan Bread, a Mixed Berry Pecan Bread and a rich Carrot Fig Pecan Bread.

If you’re from the good ol’ Lone State, you will agree that a pecan pie will ultimately find it’s way to a dessert table even if it’s not Thanksgiving. Texans love a good pecan pie.

Oh and did you know you could pair that with a steaming mug of pecan coffee?

For a lighter treat, enjoy the new Nonni’s Turtle Pecan Biscotti with that cuppa.

There’s nothing more comforting than taking a bite of crisp buttery biscotti filled with pecans and enjoying the slather of gourmet milk chocolate and caramel that comes along with it. Delish!

If you’re looking for a pecan treat to put into a lunchbox or share with friends at work, try these Texas Chocolate Pecan Cookies. And I know Christmas is a good while away but if you’ve saved some Candy Cane kisses, this Chocolate Peppermint Pecan Crinkle recipe is worth trying. (Or just skip the kisses altogether and just make the Pecan Crinkle.)

My Baked Pecan Donut Muffins are another can’t-pass-up treat you must try.Baked Pecan Donut Muffins

These a packed with pecan deliciousness and yet not overwhelmingly sweet.

And if in the end, all you want is a refreshing dessert that doesn’t require any baking, make my 3 ingredient Pecan Pie Popsicles.
