Materials Needed To Make This Paper Tulip Craft
- Colorful Double-Sided Origami Paper or Construction Paper, cut into the shape of a square.
- Scissors (Only needed if you’re using construction paper and need to cut the paper to make it a square.
How to Make This Simple Origami Flower
1. Get your choice of colored origami paper to make the tulip heads. If all you have is construction paper, cut out the shape of a square. (This is how I do it.)
2. Make line creases by folding them horizontally and vertically.
3. Fold the paper into a triangle.
Fold both sides upwards, but make sure to leave space in between.
Flip the paper over,
then make a small fold on both sides.
4. Your tulip head is now complete.
Now, you can choose to cut a small hole at the bottom of the tulip leaf to slip the tip of the paper leaf in or tape it to the back.
Let’s move on to the leaves.
5. To make the leaf, you will need a square-shaped green paper.
Make a fold vertically while your paper is placed diamond-shaped.
Fold both sides of the paper at the center.
Then, fold the upper part downwards to bring it to the center.
6. Fold it horizontally to make a small triangle.
Then fold the triangle vertically.
Get the inner part of it and gently pull it. Then, insert the tulip into it.
Wasn’t that easy?
These would make a sweet classroom project for kids to make, along with a handmade card, that can be dropped off to a local hospital or nursing home.
