The Chick-fil-A Scoop! {#CFABackstage} – Part 1

This post contains editorial samples and/or affiliate links to products I recommend. While this adds no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission on any sales made.

.

On May 3, 2012 a group of 13 bloggers toured the  Chick-fil-A headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia and walked away “stuffed”!

I’d say we were given the red carpet tour as we had their best tour guide, Chick-fil-A‘s President & COO, Mr Dan Cathy {Founder, Truett Cathy’s son}  take us around.

..

If I had to share everything I learnt in those few hours I’d have to dedicate weeks worth of posts!

So to avoid a Chikin-overload I thought it would be fun to list out my favorite “Did You Know“s about the brand as my version of the CFA BackStage Tour nugget-style!

Did You Know…

 .
* The first Chick-fil-A restaurant set up by Truett Cathy in 1946 still serves customers.

.

The next time you’re in Hapeville, Georgia don’t miss stopping at the only 24 hour {6 day a week} Chick-fil-A restaurant- The Dwarf House.

Make sure your order a plate of hot browns, my favorite dish on the menu-Spicy Chicken and chocolate pudding!

.

.

* Chick-fil-A holds “Backstage Tours” in restaurants all over the US, inviting customers to go in and see how everything is freshly made from scratch, including all their chicken specials {made from fresh chicken and hand breaded}, pies and lemonade.

.

.

I have to mention here that the kitchen we toured was systematically organized and clean.

.

The Brand is transparent about all that goes on in the kitchen.

I know mothers of kids with peanut allergies who have been worried that the waffle fries are  fried in peanut oil, so I did ask about this. I was assured that the potato waffle  fries are cooked in 100% canola oil and NOT peanut oil.

They now also offer grilled chicken nugget Kids Meals, a great alternative for anyone with a peanut allergy.

.

Oh and if you’re a “meat” kinda gal/guy, you will be happy to know that the Dwarf House does serve meat specials to honor their first menu.

.

.

{You can find out what goes into your favorite menu item right here}

.

..

* Chick-fil-A is the Nation’s 2nd largest quick service restaurant.

Their signature Chicken Sandwich continues to be a hot favorite since it was first “cooked” up in Truett Cathy’s mind in 1960.

.

.

Old favorites on the menu continue to reign the palette but new introductions like their yummy-licious choco-rich Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookies just have to be tried to experience the warm, gooey, deliciousness that comes entwined in each bite!

.

Till Chick-fil-A Scoop! {#CFABackstage} – Part 2,  remember to…

Oh and just in case you’re planning to set up a restaurant business any time in the future, here are Dan Cathy’s tips on how to be successful!

  1. Oh, we LOVE Chic-fil-A! Love that they’re exactly who they say they are. Great post on a great company!

    Found you on SITS!

    Blessings,
    Becky

  2. I have never been to a Chick-fil-a. I don’t have one around me. They look so good, too. Gonna have to write the company to get them to build one in our area.
