Pray, pray, pray all day (sing to the tune of row row row your boat!)

I know what you are thinking…”Super long post title!!!!”….but then I couldn’t think of anything more apt!!

Two days ago, we were at a friend’s house for a prayer fellowship. There were 4 families in total and generally after somebody shares the Word, each person quickly prays for the needs of others. Since the last 2 meetings, Bunny girl has been joining in and praying independently without any inhibitions. (it’s so precious to hear her pray) She decided she wanted to pray right after her Daddy prayed but by the time she put her hands together and quietly started, another lady began to pray. Bunny girl just turned around and looked at me…I asked her to wait till she finished and then start.

Again, after this lady prayed, she put her hands together and ….the next lady started “Dear Jesus….” Bunny girl frowned and turned around. Not wanting to discourage her, I told her she would surely be next.

Once the second lady said Amen, Bunny girl took a deep breath and was about to start when….the lady next to us began to pray. By now Bunny girl was restless. She wanted to pray but couldn’t seem to wiggle her way into the train of prayers.

I assured her I would wait for her to pray first before I prayed as I was to be next in turn. She quietly whispered “Sure?” I emphatically confirmed “Yes! Sure!!”

Now the lady next to me, decided to pray for a lot of prayer points and well….the prayer got to be a little longer than Bunny girl liked. She turned around and quietly muttered to me….
She’ll pray and pray and pray and it will become morning!“… and quickly turned around.

I’m telling you, it was so, so hard for me to try and sit still after hearing her say that. I’m sure the other adults thought I was being most disrespectful, shaking like a mound of wobbly jelly on the plate. But hey kids sure do say the funniest things …..and in all the wrong places!!
