Wordful Wednesday- A whole new phase in life…school!

Today began a new phase in Bunny girl’s life….PRESCHOOL!

Last night was crazy trying to get her into bed…the excitement levels were so high. Every 5 minutes she would get up and say…”I wonder what they’ll do first” and a few seconds later “I wonder what they’ll do second”….then again,”I wonder what they’ll do third”…..and then she’d start all over again. It was only 2 hours after she’d actually been tucked in, did she really fall asleep.

Waking her up early today was no struggle at all. She remembered it was her first day at school and she literally bounced out of bed….great sign! She was excited but her Daddy and I had massive knots the size of Texas in our throats and our hearts felt as heavy as boulders. God gave us the grace to hold in the floodgates….atleast in Bunny girl’s presence!

After breakfast and prayers, she was all set for a whole new adventure. Armed with an oversized Disney Princess backpack, (The size smaller than this one was too tiny and the size bigger was HUGE..this was in between but still looks a tad bit big!) she was ready to leave for school!

She skipped out of the door and once at school, happily into the classroom.

God was so good. He made sure she transitioned into the new environment well and didn’t shed a single tear. Her Daddy was strong and held back every tear that welled up. I on the other hand was a crying mess BUT only once I walked out of her class….speed walked down the corridor… and ran out to the car in the car park. It was only in the car that I let loose and had a good bawl!

Once I got home I just convinced myself that Bunny girl was out with Hubby on a long errand….it got me through the morning! I just hope Day 2 will be easier. Sigh…..my baby is growing up way too soon!!
