It can be overwhelming to find just the right gift for your child. Read to see how these toys encourage creativity in your child.

With store toy shelves bursting with options when you walk through the aisles, it can be overwhelming especially when you’re looking for just the right gift for your child.

Yes, there are so many electronic toy options out there but I’ve always found that a toy that runs fired by my child’s imagination lasts so much longer than any other.

As a mom who has seen her older children enjoy PLAYMOBIL toys thoroughly, it was a no-brainer to pick two new sets for Baby Girl.

It’s always fun to see how a child’s mind works when choosing a toy. When asked to pick two choices, Baby Girl chose the PLAYMOBIL School Bus and the PLAYMOBIL Large City Zoo toy sets.

I knew she would pick the School Bus thanks to the deep love for school her PreK teacher has placed in her but wasn’t sure about the choice of the zoo. She was quick to reply it was so the kids in school could take a field trip to the zoo, to learn about all the different animals and love them as she did!

Those wheels of imagination had already begun to spin!

Creativity, Imagination and Role Play, oh my!

Baby Girl is 4 and is learning how to follow instruction manuals, so it was a treat to see her patiently work on putting her toy sets together.

Following the picture on the box, she quickly stuck stickers on the right places and had the bus driver and kids, complete with their backpacks, ready for their zoo field trip.

On a side note, I love that PLAYMOBIL keeps a child in mind when designing their toy sets.

Children can use the school bus door to have their mini figures enter the school bus

but the roof of the school bus can also be opened to place the driver and passengers in easily.

(Thereby ensuring a child does not get frustrated if he/she is unable to get her characters in or if one slides off the bus seat, when the bus is moved)

The school bus toy equipped with stop signs and flashing lights would actually even make a great gift for a child who has not started school yet, to get him/her excited about riding the school bus or just really about the prospect of going to school, backpack in tow, surrounded by a new set of friends.

Another thing I love about PLAYMOBIL is their attention to detail.

The elaborate PLAYMOBIL Large City Zoo set is amazing. Check out the zoo entrance with the animal figures on the arch, a turnstile, a map, a bench for visitors to rest on and even a clock, how cute is that?!

This is such a perfect toy set to sharpen a child’s creativity, build on imaginative play skills and encourage role play.

Isn’t the penguin habitat complete with mama penguins and babies simply adorable?

I would definitely encourage you to have your child take the lead when putting this toy set together. Baby Girl did ask her 8 year old brother for a little help with the lion’s enclosure and penguins, but everything else she was able to arrange, by following the instruction manual.

The possibilities are endless!

The cool thing about these toy sets is a child is not limited by any guidelines or rules on how to play with the components in the sets. The sky’s the limit when it comes to thinking up storylines and fun scenarios.

Oh and another plus? A child can play with a set independently or with 1, 3 or even more friends!

As a mom who has seen her children thrive academically and socially because of imaginative play and creativity thanks to toy sets like these fantastic PLAYMOBIL ones, I assure you it’s one toy purchase you won’t regret.
