From pirates to dolphins to everything in between, Nassau-Paradise Island is the perfect family destination. Their gorgeous beaches have tons of water activities, and the island resorts boast ample amenities to keep kids busy all vacation long. Here’s a look at some of our favorite things we got to do!

Rise and Shine with Dolphins

Rise and Shine Dolphin Program at Atlantis

This fun program was a highlight of our trip. Children get to play with dolphins in the water and see how these beautiful creatures live. Read more about our experience here.

Make Chocolate at Graycliff Chocolatier

Make Chocolate at Graycliff Chocolatier

The Graycliff Chocolatier offers a factory tour and chocolate making experience that kids will love. We learned how chocolate is made, and even got to sample some of their treats! Every participant is given a chocolate mold and toppings, and we got to make our own chocolate bars and truffles.

Visit Baha Mar Animal Sanctuary

Visit the Baha Mar Animal Sanctuary

The BEACH Sanctuary gives guests the opportunity to interact with native Bahamian wildlife and endangered species. You can participate daily in animal feedings and wade into the sanctuary tidal pools to meet stingrays, sea turtles and nurse sharks. My son loved feeding the sea turtles and getting to pet them. It was such a unique experience!

Spend the Day at Aquaventure

Spend the Day at Aquaventure at Atlantis

You’ll need a whole day to discover the thrilling waterslides at Aquaventure! The largest waterpark in the Bahamas, Aquaventure boats 141-acres of pools and waterslides. It has a dedicated kid’s area with a water play structure and thrilling waterslides designed for those 48-inches or taller. But hidden amongst the Mayan ruins are smaller slides that even little ones can enjoy! We had so much fun exploring the park and finding these hidden gems. And you can’t miss The Current, a river adventure that my son kept begging to ride again and again!

Explore the Aquariums at Atlantis

Explore the Aquariums at Atlantis

While you’re at Atlantis, don’t miss the chance to explore the multitude of aquariums there. From The Dig with its Atlantis ruins to open-air pools featuring hammerhead sharks, there is sea life everywhere you turn at Atlantis.

Celebrate Junkanoo at Atlantis

Celebrate Junkanoo at Atlantis

End your day at Atlantis with an evening Junkanoo celebration! This Bahamian tradition is a fun way to expose children to the local culture. They had stations set up for children to decorate their own Junkanoo masks, get their faces painted, and even participate in the music with homemade instruments! My son loved this awesome experience.

Visit the Pirates of Nassau Museum

Visit the Pirates of Nassau Museum

Another fun family destination in Nassau is the Pirates of Nassau Museum. Walk though a pirate ship inspired by real pirate adventures that took place right there on the island. Learn how pirates lived and see what conditions were like on their ships. If your kids are interested in history or pirates, this is a place you don’t want to miss!

Enjoy Fresh Conch Salad

A visit to the Bahamas would not be complete without some fresh conch salad. My son couldn’t believe that those shells actually contained a creature — and that you could eat it! It is something he still talks about! You can find fresh conch salad readily on the island. We enjoyed ours table side at one of the restaurants at Atlantis.

As you can see, there are so many things to do with kids in Nassau-Paradise Island. I hope you enjoyed this look into our fun island adventure and make Nassau your next vacation stop!
