Beyond Meat is entering kitchens nationwide {#FutureOfProtein}

My father-in-law is visiting us after a two year gap and it has been so nice to sit down and enjoy him being here. The kids love Grandpa and even though Baby Girl is meeting him for the first time, they both get along like a house on fire!

Daddy has been telling us about how things have been changing in the state we live in back home, thanks to certain policy makers. One policy that has just come into play is the ban of the sale of beef in the markets or in a dish at restaurants. This has naturally been hard on many beef lovers. While we may not have meat bans here, people have been voluntarily making the switch from meat and poultry products to plant based alternatives for health reasons or even religious reasons.

But cutting out all that protein isn’t always wise. It has to be replaced with an alternate protein. Preferably one that is better in health and not expensive at the same time.

Soy and pea protein isolates: the highest amount of clean plant protein. 

Amaranth: a gluten free grain

Natural flavoring: containing no added MSG or gluten and is 100% vegan.

Soy and carrot fiber: GMO free fibers

Expeller-pressed canola oil: free of saturated fat and extracted minus the use of chemicals

Dipotassium phosphate: water soluble salt that is a source of potassium

Titanium dioxide: naturally ocurring mineral that helps the products look like its meat counterparts!

Caramel coloring: Only use Class I (specifically Class I – E150a) caramel coloring that is ammonium and sulfite free

Yeast extract: a high protein, is low fat, vegetarian, non-allergenic and MSG free
