Unchanging Jesus (God Whispers-28)

At times when God speaks, it’s a still small voice…sometimes even a whisper. And it’s at times like these that He invites us to be still and know that He is God (Psalms 46:10).

Unchanging Jesus ( Day 28)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
(Hebrews 13:8)

Hubby and I got married back home, bang in the middle of the monsoons. (Anyone from the subcontinent will tell you that a monsoon wedding = squelchy mud, heavy downpours and gloomy weather) We chose to have it that way and encouraged ourselves in this, that God had orchestrated all the arrangements so beautifully and that everything kept falling into place in a way that amazed us.
We knew that He was able to do anything and yes, we dared to pray and ask God to bring out the sun the day we said our “I Dos”.
As the days drew closer to the big day, the rain seemed to beat down upon the land with what seemed to look like a vengeance. Looking out at the puddles filling up was discouraging but we continued to pray.
The day finally dawned and lo and behold…
it was still pouring cats and dogs.
Despite the downpour we did all that needed to be done in our respective homes and then left to meet at the church.
As my bridal car drove closer to the church, the clouds moved away and crazy as it may have seemed to any Weather Forecaster, the sun beamed through and brought in a warmth that made it look like it had been a sunny, summer day all along.
God answered our prayer.
But that’s not all…
He kept away the rain all through the service and the wedding reception and just as our last guest left the wedding hall, it started to pitter-patter once again.
God moved.
The Bible is filled with so many awesome testimonies and miracles and while they may seem like historic facts to teach us, I want to encourage you that they’re not!
If Jesus healed the sick then, He can still restore and rejuvenate your beaten body today.
If God provided for the Israelites in the wilderness, He can still provide for your family’s every need despite the recession scenario.
If Jesus spoke to the storm to be still, He can still quench that fiery trial you are going through and yes, even hold up weather for your need.
If God could change Saul’s behavior 360 degrees, He can change that family member’s stubborn heart easily.

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Our LORD hasn’t changed. He IS still the same.
What He did then, He CAN and WILL do today, if you take Him on His Word and stand trusting in faith.
I pray that you will find comfort, encouragement and hope as you lean close to listen to God’s Whisper for your situation today.
