Step Through the Looking Glass With SummerFest at Gaylord Texan

We were invited to the Gaylord Texan to experience SummerFest 2016 and see their all-new 3D Visual Light Show, “Breaking Through the Looking Glass.” Arena B was kind enough to represent Mommy Snippets and share her experience. All opinions on the same are her own and have not been influenced.
This summer, Alice and her friends from Wonderland are taking over the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Resort. And it’s awesome!
Now through Sept. 5, there are tons of family activities available at the Gaylord Texan Resort — many of them free! We had the chance to experience some of these activities, and my family loved it.
- Queen of Hearts “Light Up the Night” Party — Friday and Saturday nights, plus Sunday nights 7/3 and 9/4 — This free party begins at 9 pm in the Lone Star Atrium and features strolling characters, balloon artists, music and more!
- “Breaking Through The Looking Glass” A 3D Visual Light Show — Friday and Saturday nights, plus Sunday nights 7/3 and 9/4 — Starting at 9:30 pm, an awesome light show transforms the Mission Plaza walls into a live 3D canvas! Watch scenes from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland play out. There are lots of faces you’ll recognize!
- Queen of Arts Tour — Journey through four-and-a-half acres of lush indoor gardens featuring sculptures, paintings, and more art featuring our favorite Wonderland characters. Pick up a map at the Concierge Desk and enjoy the displays anytime!
- Wonderland Photo Ops and Strolling Entertainment — Meet the characters from Wonderland throughout the property during SummerFest.
Other Activities Include:
- 4D Wonderland Adventure Maze — Adults $15 plus tax; Children 4-12 $12 plus tax; 3 and under FREE with paid ticket. Take a trip with Alice through Wonderland in this 4D experience that features colorful lights, 3D artwork and more! We had so much fun trying to find out way out — my four-year-old kept running into walls. It was so funny! Purchase tickets here.
- Hatter’s Tea Party — $25 plus tax; Friday at 6 pm and 8 pm; Saturday at 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm and 8 pm; Sunday at 12 pm and 2 pm. Be the guest of honor at the Hatter’s table and enjoy a fun-filled, interactive experience for the whole family. Put on a souvenir top hat, decorate tasty cupcakes, and enjoy delicious Wonder Punch while the Hatter creates some nonsensical magic. Purchase tickets here.
- This Way and That Way Scavenger Hunt — $10 plus tax. By day, follow the clues and solve the puzzles to find the Cheshire Cats hidden around the atrium. By night, find the glowing clues to solve the riddles hidden throughout the Alice-inspired decor. Complete either hunt and receive a special souvenir to take home! Purchase tickets here.
- Cups and Canvases Crafting — $19.99 plus tax for a cup or canvas; $35.99 plus tax for any two items. Kids select between a cup or a canvas and let their inner artists come to life. Purchase tickets here.
You can also purchase a Wonderland All-Access Pass for $48 plus tax. This pass includes the 4D Wonderland Adventure (unlimited entrance), This Way and That Way Scavenger Hunt, Hatter’s Tea Party OR Cups and Canvases (Choose One), and a 6×8 SummerFest picture. Purchase tickets here.
