At times when God speaks, it’s a still small voice…sometimes even a whisper. And it’s at times like these that He invites us to be still and know that He is God (Psalms 46:10).
Join me as I share with you 31 God Whispers…i.e. 31 Promises from the Word of God that sustain, strengthen and encourage me on my journey to be the Mommy and Wife God wants me to be.

Martha! Martha! (Day 6)

.

And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

(Luke 10:41, 42)

.

Doesn’t it seem like there are always more things on your “To Do” list than there are hours in a day?

I’m sure there are those days when you feel like you need to crawl back under those covers and pretend that it’s still late in the night even though it’s actually 11 am!

.

At times it may seem like there’s so much to do in a day that it may just be your best bet to skip your quiet time alone with God, skip your time of prayer and skip the time you spend reading the Bible.

In those 30 minutes you decide instead to complete a bunch of chores and get the rest of the day to roll out smoothly now that you’ve completed atleast a few things from that list.

I don’t know about you but whenever I do this, it affects the rest of my day…and yes, that of my family’s too! (Heard the saying “When Momma’s not happy, nobody else is happy!”?)

I tend to lose my temper quickly, get irritable and even though the chores are done, my emotions are all high strung.

.

When this happens I feel like I can hear a Still Small Voice whispering “Martha! Martha!” and then I’m reminded that I’m trying to go through the day drawing on my own strength and emotional reserves.

I realize quickly that I need God’s Strength and Grace to help me make it through the day with a loving, joyful and peaceful spirit.

.

Spending time with God in prayer and reading His Word (the Bible) is never a waste. When we sit in His Presence, we receive His Touch and slowly our human characteristics evolve to become more like His…

and that’s what makes a difference to the sort of Mommy and wife you will be for the rest of the day.

.

.

The next time you are tempted to play hooky from your quiet time with God. Stop and listen carefully, I’m sure you will hear Him loving draw you in with a whisper…

“Martha! Martha!”

.With.

I

I pray that you will find comfort, encouragement and hope as you lean close to listen to God’s Whisper for your situation today.

Be blessed!

A big thank you to The Nester for triggering off a desire within me to do this…
I’m excited to see what God will do through this!
