He neither slumbers nor sleeps (God Whispers-7)

He neither slumbers nor sleeps (Day 7)
.
My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel, shall neither slumber nor sleep.
(Psalms 121:2-4)

When Bunny girl was two and a half years old, her Doctor told us she’d developed RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus).
We were scared. Listening to our baby finding it difficult to breathe was hard. Listening to her cry weakly was painful. We’d take turns sleeping, holding her upright, allowing her head to rest on our chests, just to make sure her air passages were clear. We’d try hard to stay up but there were moments when we’d nod off to sleep in fatigue, even if it was just to catch a few winks.

I thank God for His Word that encourages us to trust Him during difficult times. I love how this passage says that He does not slumber, He does not sleep.
And to emphasize this for us to really grasp a hold of this Promise, He says it again.
Your problem may concern your child’s health, a rocky marriage, an uncertain looking future or something much bigger.
Or perhaps it’s a small issue but it’s nagging the life out of you.
Don’t let that worry cause you to lose your sleep. You can trust our Heavenly Father to take a hold of it and when you do, He’ll embrace you with His Peace, draw you into His Comforting Chest and watch over you as you sleep. (Psalm 127: 2b)
As you sleep, rest assured, He won’t catch a quick shut eye. He will be wide awake, watching out for you.
And that problem?…
Don’t worry about it.
The Creator of the Heavens and the earth has His Hand upon it. He’ll know just what to do.
