The past few weeks and the next few days will be crazy at the mall.

If you know what size your child wears, I would recommend shopping online to save yourself the grief of standing in long lines, juggling bags and little ones in the crowds and ultimately finding out they have all the sizes on the rack except your child’s size.

Holiday fashion trends for kids and affordable outerwear

Zulily prides itself in carrying fashionable clothes for the youngest to the oldest in the family. Everything can be accessed from the comfort of your living room, while dressed in your pjs, sipping a hot cup of chai.

And with Christmas festivities in the air, zulily’s kid’s fashion expert, Shawn Redman, offers some tips on what the raging fashion trends for kids are:

  • It’s no surprise Smocking is back and better than ever. For example, you’ll see Prince George donning woven, tailored styles that represent an emergence of a more sophisticated look. Pair a smocked tee with pants (or a playsuit for an infant) for a classic holiday look.

  • Bishop Dresses are another timeless silhouette that highlight smocking along the neckline, creating a sweet, softer look. For little girls, I love traditional red Bishop dresses with an embroidered holiday motif on the yoke (i.e. Christmas trees, Santa, poinsettias, snowmen).  You can style it with tights and patent leather Mary Janes.
  • Rompers, Playsuits, and Bubbles: These are classic one-piece garments that are perfect festive finery for infants. Style them for girls with a matching hair bow.  For Boys, you can pair them with oxfords or slip-ons with knee high socks.
  • John Johns are another classic holiday look for boys. They can be layered with crisp white shirt or turtleneck and paired with lace-up oxfords.

With the weather getting nippy in most parts, outerwear features on top of that shopping list for most people. Considering good outerwear does cost a pretty amount, gifting cozy outerwear would make a much appreciated Christmas gift.

zulily carries different brands every few days and you get to choose from a variety of unique styles at the price point that suits your budget the best.

I was able to get Dottie a Yoki black hooded toggle peacock, Little Man an Urban Republic Navy Hooded Zip Up Coat and Baby Girl a Yoki double-breasted peacoat for a zulily special rate of $56. (If I paid the original retail value for all 3 I would have spent $164. Ouch!)
