At times when God speaks, it’s a still small voice…sometimes even a whisper. And it’s at times like these that He invites us to be still and know that He is God (Psalms 46:10).
Join me as I share with you 31 God Whispers…i.e. 31 Promises from the Word of God that sustain, strengthen and encourage me on my journey to be the Mommy and Wife God wants me to be.

An Attitude of Gratitude ( Day 10)

.

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

.

Have you noticed how easy it us for us to complain about the things we don’t have, don’t become or don’t receive?

Sadly we live in a “Gimme! Gimme!” society that seems to be solely focused on how much it can get out of life irrespective of how much it has already received.

.

The story of the ten lepers in Luke, chapter 17 of the Bible always sends me that subtle prod.

Do I want to be like the nine lepers who leaped away without thanking Jesus or do I want to be like that one grateful leper who remembered and returned to Christ with a heart filled with gratitude?

.

It’s easy to get sucked into that monotonous cycle of ingratitude. Shake yourself out of it and thank Him for the blessings that already surround you.

You may not live in a five room mansion with a swimming pool but atleast your children do not sleep on the streets with barely a thread to cover their bare bodies.

You may not bring home a fat paycheck every month but atleast you have a steady income to support your family.

You may not eat in five star restaurants or dine with the “la-dee-dahs” in society but atleast your family eats three meals a day.

You may not have all the extravagant luxuries the Jones have but atleast your family has been blessed with good health.

.

If we really take the time out to sit down and count the blessings God has poured out into our lives, I’m sure a book will not be enough to contain it all.

.

Lets stop focusing on all those petty peripherals and thank Him for what He has already given us.

Lets put on that Attitude of Gratitude and count those blessings one by one…

..With.

I

I pray that you will find comfort, encouragement and hope as you lean close to listen to God’s Whisper for your situation today.

Be blessed!

A big thank you to The Nester for triggering off a desire within me to do this…
I’m excited to see what God will do through this!

  1. This is beautiful. Thank you for the reminder. You’re right – it’s so easy to get busy and forget to be thankful.

    1. Counting my blessings reminds me of how much God loves me…makes everything feel so much better!

  2. My grandma used to say she was grateful for chores…doing dishes meant she had food to eat, laundry meant she had clothes to wear, mopping meant a home to live in. I often need to talk to the Lord and tell him sorry for being so ungrateful!
