When we signed our kids up for soccer two years ago, we didn’t think it would have such a big impact on their lives. Besides the benefits of staying fit and learning to work together as a team, we saw our 6 year old, become a little bolder and find socializing with kids he didn’t know, so much easier.

What initially began as a persuasive move to get our 10 year old bookworm off the couch has resulted in becoming a sport she loves and looks forward to playing even when her coach runs them to the bone during practice evenings twice a week.

Yes, the joy of winning games on the weekend is a big plus but even if they don’t win those games, Hubs and I see them win on the platform of life skills, thanks to their commitment to playing the sport.

If your child is thinking of signing up for soccer this summer, the benefits of joining a local team can never be discounted.

Soccer quote-MommySnippets.comSadly many local soccer teams suffer because of a lack of adequate funds. Teams have to turn interested players away because their parents are unable to pay for the uniforms and/or season fees to help with the team’s maintenance and functioning.

That’s where the Multipacks ‘Pass The Love Back’ program, from the maker of OREO cookies, RITZ BITS crackers, and CHIPS AHOY! cookies comes into the picture.Mondelez_PI

How to get your local soccer team sponsored.

All through the month of April and May (till May 31, 2016), through this initiative, soccer teams can apply for a chance to be eligible to receive $1000 towards custom-made team t-shirts or a team donation.

Pass the Love back

Here’s how this works:

1. Register your team and create a rally page.

2. Invite friends, family and the community to join your team’s Pear, connect with Nabisco and score points.

3. As the points add up, you can redeem those Pear Points for custom team apparel, uniforms and more. The more you engage with people with the Pear, the more opportunities for sponsorships will roll in.

Hurry because this fantastic window of opportunity closes May 31, 2016.

As the official snacks of the U.S. Soccer and Major League Soccer, the maker of OREO cookies, RITZ BITS crackers and CHIPS AHOY! cookies multipacks, couldn’t be a more apt brand to organize this initiative for the third year in a row.
