Road trips are great. Spending quality time with family (or friends) is a wonderful way to relax, have fun and reconnect. The following road trip hacks can potentially make your next adventure even better.

Road Trip Hacks for Your Next Trip

Prepare for Tolls

If you’re traveling in the United States, chances are you’ll come in contact with at least one toll road. Be prepared. Make sure you have several small bills and a bunch of quarters and dimes handy. This way, chances are, you won’t have to wait to get change from the toll booth attendant. You can navigate through the “self-service lane” quickly and easily.

Keep Fido Occupied

Dogs get bored on road trips, just like small children. Eliminate some of the boredom by giving Fido a dog bone filled with a favorite treat. The hollow dog toys, made for this purpose, are readily available both at pet stores and online. Once you reach your destination, for the day, simply wash it out and the bone will be ready for the next leg of your journey.road-trip-hacks-for-your-next-trip-mommysnippets-comRemember to Bring a Map

It’s no secret, we live in a day and age where technology rules. The majority of travelers depend on their GPS to navigate from point A to point B. But, what happens if the device suddenly dies? Keep an “old-fashioned” map in your glove compartment, for emergencies. You never know when you might need it.

Pop a Small Trash Can into your Car

This helps especially when traveling with children. If you don’t want to invest in a small trash can, just carry extra trash bags to stash trash away in. Keeps the car clean, considerably odor free and clean up after reaching your destination becomes so much easier.

Make a Souvenir List

Are you planning on purchasing souvenirs on your trip? If so, it can get expensive fast. Save money by making a “souvenir list,” before you leave home. Write down each recipient’s name and the amount of money you intend to spend on each individual. This makes it a whole lot easier to stick to a budget and resist impulse purchases.

These are just five of many road trip hacks for your next trip. Not only are they simple to initiate, they’re totally affordable too. Being prepared means that you’ll have less to worry about when traveling and more time to make memories you’ll never forget!
