This is Nyahok.Untitled design (5)She lives in South Sudan.

She is 5.

Like any 5 year old her age, she loves to play.2

Unlike many 5 year olds she does not go to school.

Unlike many 5 year olds, she is fed a porridge of wild leaves and grains, every meal, because her mother does not have the means to get anything more.

Unlike many 5 year olds she is forced to drink dirty, disease-ridden water because that’s the only water available to her.1

She and countless other 5 year olds wake up each morning, with uncertainty and fear.

For no fault of theirs, their houses were burnt down, forcing them to flee and rely on humanitarian efforts for their daily needs to be met…

the result of the war that broke out in South Sudan, in 2013.

Help make a difference in a 5 year old’s life

On July 9th, 2016, the world’s youngest country, South Sudan celebrates its 5th birthday. The state of affairs in the country bring no reason to celebrate yet, for the sake of Nyahok and countless other 5 year olds around South Sudan, we ask you to partner with CARE to make a difference in these children’s lives.

Would you give up a few extravagances this summer to send $70 to a family in South Sudan?

$70 can provide a crop kit so they can begin growing food again. A small step towards rebuilding the future for their children.

Or $150 can help provide full nutritional support for a malnourished child. 2 (2)

And as your 5 year old plays in the backyard this summer, would you say a prayer for the children in South Sudan, like Nyahok?

The past can’t be changed but your prayers and financial support can make a difference today,

and make the future a much more hope-filled, healthy and happy one.
