Help feed 9 million people this Thanksgiving (Day 7 of Giving)

Ever so often we forget to remember how blessed we really are. Little things like our three whole meals are sometimes taken for granted. The other day while at the dinner table we told Bunny girl that it was important we not waste our food as there are children around the world who only eat a single meal a day. The look of utter shock on her face made me realize that there are so many times that we become numb to the primary needs of people around us when we’re comfortable and secure within the four walls of our home. It’s important we shake off that ‘old self’ and put on our ‘new self’ with an attitude of gratitude and a drive to help.

On Day 7 of the 30 Day Giving Challenge, I wanted to introduce you to Feeding America’s Feast of 9 million campaign.

(9 million hungry people! Startling figure right?)
I understand from the site that a donation of just 1 US$ will help provide a Thanksgiving Feast to 7 people.
As I type this there are over 1300 wonderful people following my blog. (And that does not include visitors to the blog and email subscribers) Now if even half of you, i.e. 650 readers, commit to donating just 1 US$ towards this cause, we will be able to provide 4550 Thanksgiving Meals to those in need. WOW!

Will you help make this Thanksgiving more meaningful with your support?

35
For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
(Matthew 25:25-40)
