Encourage one another in word or deed (Day 3 of Giving)

Each of us have received a word of encouragement at a time we needed it most, at some point in our lives. We remember, at the time, that the word spoken or the gesture received did bless us in a special way. (and in some cases may have also been a confirmation to continue doing what God had put into your heart.)

Today on Day 3 of the 30 Day Giving Challenge , I want to encourage you to think of the people in your church who have sowed faithfully every week with their time, sacrificed their wants to serve your needs and given of their talents to bless you, your spouse or your children. This person may be someone who speaks from the pulpit, serves in the Church nursery, teaches Sunday School or maybe just helps set the Church in order before services begin.

Sit down quietly before the LORD and pray for the LORD to put upon your heart the name of a person or place in your mind the image of someone who may be in need of just one little whisper from God.

I love the way the Amplified Bible puts this verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:11-13

11Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing. 12Now also we beseech you, brethren, get to know those who labor among you [recognize them for what they are, acknowledge and appreciate and respect them all]–your leaders who are over you in the Lord and those who warn and kindly reprove and exhort you.13And hold them in very high and most affectionate esteem in [intelligent and sympathetic] appreciation of their work.

Will you allow God to use you to GIVE a word of encouragement or bless on someone in a God-fluential way today?
