My kids love board games and even though I have a soon to be preschool graduate, Wonder Forge‘s games remain a big hit with him and his 9 year old sibling. (Oh and Mama too!)
Preschool learning with Wonder Forge
Last month, several games were added to Wonder Forge’s growing collection. The games added include good ol’ favorites like matching pairs featuring adorable baby animals.
(Be prepared for a lot of Awwwwwws each time a card is flipped. This is also a fun way to teach older preschoolers what different baby animals are called, while testing their memory to find hidden pairs as well.)
and a travel edition of Frozen’s matching game, that would be perfect for those road trips and travel layovers coming up over the next couple of weeks.
I love that this is a quick, don’t-have-to-think-much game for all ages to enjoy. And my son loves that he doesn’t need to think strategically to win. It really just depends on the cards you draw!
Growing up, Snoopy used to be one of my favorite characters, so with the Peanuts Surprise Slides game it was like taking a ‘slide’ into the past. The game is similar to chutes and ladders but with a slight twist.
With this game, if the spinner’s arrow points at a flip, the player gets to slip over one (or all) of the seasons, dependent on which flip the arrow lands. The race to the finish can be quick with a surprise slide or long if you get stuck in a loop with a slide that keeps pushing you back!
But of all the games received, the unanimous favorite is Doc McStuffins’ Mix Up! Fix Up! guessing game.
Similar to a “Guess Who?” game, players, aka the doctors, have to rely on deductive reasoning to figure out which medical tool would help ‘fix’ the mystery boo-boo. (The said medical tool is one that has been picked for the ‘patient’ and is held on his ‘medical report sleeve)
After a few spins, the choices get narrowed down and the player that guesses right gets to win a band-aid. While using the spinner, if the arrow lands on the band-aid, a band-aid is given to the player standing in as the patient. The winner is ultimately the person with the most band-aids.
