This weekend, my husband (a.k.a. best friend) and I celebrated being married to each other for 10 years.
After being married to my husband for 10 years I can tell you what he’d love to eat for dinner. What sort of music he likes to listen to. What he likes watching on television. What cracks him up. What saddens him. What tickles the funnies out of him.
It’s as if he has been my project of study for the past 10 years and you know what?
I love that I’ve learned so much about him.
But what I love the most is the fact that the learning hasn’t stopped.
Each day is a new opportunity the LORD gives me to learn something new about my soul mate.
Fall in love with him some more.
Understand his feelings even better.
It’s a life-long project.
And honestly, if I really asked myself what would benefit him the most, in terms of the most perfect anniversary gift…
a quiet whisper reminds me…
Tangible gifts are fleeting but prayer can clothe, equip, strengthen, encourage and mold your husband.
To be the man, husband and father, God needs him to be.
And yes, by God-incidence, this is the book that caught my eye, before we headed off on our Anniversary trip this weekend.
Kathi Lipp encourages the young/mature wife (or wife to be) reading the book to
1. Set a prayer routine (even if it’s for a few minutes every day)
2. Dedicate a specific place to pray (it conditions one’s mind to go into prayer mode)
3. Use God’s Word and His Promises to pray for one’s husband and
4. Trust God for the results.
I’ve gone through the book once but now I’m going to start at the beginning, all over again, and use it like a study.
I’m believing the LORD to do awesome things for my man!
One reader will win Kathi Lipp’s book- Praying God’s Word for Your Husband.
