Review disclaimer

My son was always quick to reach his milestones as a baby.

Why he even aced potty training before he turned 2, shocking both Hubs and myself. So when it was time for preschool we really thought it would be a walk in the park but we were so wrong. What proved to be one of the hardest seasons, as parents, gently worked to be a lesson in faith and patience, over time.

The day the tears stopped.

It didn’t happen on day 3 or day 6. It happened a whole two weeks later.

Two weeks of waiting on the school premises. Two weeks of listening to him shriek after I slowly edged my way out of his classroom. Two weeks of peeking in to make sure he was ok. Two weeks of burdened praying. Two weeks of receiving assurance after assurance from the wonderful teachers and administrative staff. Two weeks of waiting…

waiting for that day.

The day the tears stopped #MilestoneMoments

 And then it happened.

The Monday of week 3, he walked into class, got a big hug from his teacher, turned around gave me the widest grin ever, waved goodbye, walked over to his little buddies and joined them on the carpet strewn with toys.

Just.like.that.

The tears stopped…

from his end.

I, on the other hand, walked out of his class, sat on the bench outside, called Hubs and cried…

tears of joy, relief, gratitude for answered prayer and peace.

His milestone moment may not have been a big one to many but to us it was HUGE.

Every finish line is a new start

P&G and Babies R Us have teamed up to celebrate such milestone moments, along with Noelle Pikus Pace, US Olympic Skeleton Athlete. Noelle feels strongly that “Raising a family is like training for the Olympic Winter Games” and that “Moms are in training every minute of every day.” And that’s one reason why Noelle relies on Babies R Us to stock up on Pampers.

She also believes that every finish line is a new start, when it comes to achieving those milestones, not just as a parent but also as a child.

when it comes to raising kids, every finish line is a new start.

  14. Awww, my son cried everyday too. I decided to take him out of school and wait another year, when suddenly he was happy. I was relieved like you! Another milestone moment was when my children first called me momma:)

  15. My kids are older and last year my oldest son started “high school”. We live in a small town so high school is 7th grade. Thankyou

  16. A funny one: When my child was a toddler, without being asked, she went into the kitchen and came back with a can of Diet Coke. “This is for you, Daddy.”

  17. Milestone moment was when me daughter said I would be ok if she stayed the night at the grandparents because she would be home soon.

  18. I co-slept with my son for many years and only recently has he started sleeping in his own bed. It was a great miracle of a milestone!

  20. I still remember when my daughter took her first steps. It’s like it was just yesterday and now she is 18yrs old and going to be graduating this year. Time flies by. Everyone needs to cherish every moment with their little ones..

  21. A big milestone moment for my kids was when they learned to read, like learning to walk you can only encourage them but they will do it in their own timing. Finally one day it will just click and it is wonderful to see that light go off and a world of books opened to them. Favorite milestone of all!

  22. Seeing my Son leave the Nicu after being in there since birth, he only weighed 2 1.4 ozs and now he is over 30 pounds and doing great.

  23. Since I was a stay at home mom with my daughter for the first few years, I think I got all the milestones.

  24. My son is 16 months and we are currently weaning him from nursing. It has been very difficult, but we are down to just night time feedings now. Its hard for our son and me because its a bitter sweet feeling. I miss being able to eat what I want, drink what I want, take medication if I am ill, etc., but at the same time I miss that closeness with my baby

  25. Our most recent milestone was my daughter took a couple of steps to me, just today!!! The wonderful world of walking begins!

  26. I live with my sister, a single mommy and we traise my nieces together. The biggest milestone was putting the older one on the schoolbus after my work schedule changed and I could no lonber bring her myself. It nearly killed me, but she loved riding to school with her friends! The baby’s biggest milestone so far has been reaching an age where she no longer sticks everything up her nose! (That was a scary phase, especailly the day she got into a bag of M&M’s)

  27. I loved the moment when my babies first tooth came in.. Something about a gummy grin with just the tip of a tooth peeking through makes my heart smile

  28. My most memoriable milestones I shared with my children were their 1st words (momma, of course), 1st steps & potty training. There were many, many more but these are ones that stick out to me. =)

  29. I think my biggest milestone with my kids was the day that the last of 4 was totally potty trained 🙂 If I win this prize, it will go to a dear friend who is expecting grand baby #1! Thanks 🙂

  30. One of the latest, and proudest, is hearing my six year old confidently read a book aloud to me!

  31. for me and my girl, the milestones were small but frequent – she was so smart and independent! I think the hardest part was me adjusting to how fast she grew – her first day at school, the first time I let her cross the street without holding my hand, the first time she walked to the bus stop by herself. graduating!

  32. a huge milestone for me was when my son said the word “mama” for the first time clearly….he had mouth operations at three and four months, and he said my name when he was 13 months, and it was awesome, thanks!

  33. my daughter recently started rolling over, one minute I put her on her back the next she was on her belly it was so cute 🙂

  34. Potty training my first daughter was my proudest. I didn’t know who to celebrate more my daughter or me! 🙂

  35. When my daughter stopped nursing. She nursed until just after she turned 2 years old. It was bittersweet. Mostly sweet, though, because as soon as she stopped nursing, she magically slept through the night for the first time EVER! 🙂

  36. My baby boy is going to be born within a week (either on his own, or induced next Tuesday). My favorite milestone so far has been feeling him kick and move all over the place. I know my next favorite will be meeting him for the first time!

  37. I was so fortunate to be there when our Son took his first steps. It was on Boxing Day. He was standing by the coffee table and I was in the chair about four feet away. I put my hands out to him and he let go of the coffee table and walked to me. I am thrilled that I got to experience that milestone with him. Thank you for the super giveaway opportunity. Keep up the terrific blogging.

  38. My biggest milestone moment with my children so far is kinda of a weird one. But when one of my twin boys lost his first tooth, I sobbed like a baby. It was so monumental… They grow up so fast 🙂

  39. I think when son rolled over for the first time, it somehow caught me by surprise, and I kept thinking wow, he is really getting around now on his own.

  40. My daughter is 9 months old. For Christmas we were sure to get her toys that would encourage her to sit more and stand. We got her a big wooden activity cube. On Christmas Day she went right over to the cube and pulled herself up to a stand for the first time. She fell over, but she did it

  41. My baby is grown and having a baby of her own now, so I have done all the milestones, one of the best was when I met my first grandson. Second is due in exactly one month.

  42. this is for my nephew, who is 3 months old, and our biggest milestone together is when I watch him and he tries to roll over

  43. I loved when my youngest starting talking! She barely said anything then overnight was talking up a storm.

  44. The first time my son got to “eat” he was complete TPN for the first 2 weeks, we started off soooooo slow with droppers of breastmilk at first lol. He did great though 🙂

  45. my son using the potty for the first time with out even being told I was taking a nap and when I woke daddy took me too see him and he was peeing in his potty and when he got up and I went to empty it I notice he also popped 🙂 he made me so happy

  46. Oh one of my favorites was when he was learning to crawl…and took those first few inches forward! Oh so precious!

  47. My daughter has/had a speech impediment where she spoke excessively fast and no one other than me could understand her because there was no endings through the sentence as every word ran together consecutively. My best milestone with her was when that finally got a breakthrough and she split up her words and her own father new what she said.

  48. I have my daughter crawling on video at 5 1/2 months, I was absolutely amazed! Such a precious moment!

  49. One of the first milestones I remember was her first laugh. Her Daddy cracks her up even still.

  50. We have had so many milestones with our daughter, first words, first tooth, first time she crawled, the list goes on!

  51. On Christmas Day, my 13 month old came over to me and gave me his first voluntary kiss – so meaningful!

  52. When my daughter had her first real laugh. It surprised her for a minute and then she laughed again!

  53. One of our biggest milestones so far is our daughter walking! And now she’s like a little lightning streak through our house….nonstop lol.

  54. One of our biggest milestones so far with our oldest was her starting High School this year!

  55. My daughter will be 4 soon but recently she started spelling and writing her name and it hit me hard… she is growing up and will never be that tiny little girl that wobbled to walk straight again… she is already on her path…

  56. My favorite milestone will all 4 of my kids was the first time they smiled at me.I am not talking the cute grins of infancy but the first time they truly smiled. They each had a sprki in their eyes.

  57. my son is 22 so the milestones were quite awhile ago. so many memories. the first I love you comes to mind

  59. My kids were all preemies so we cherished EVERY milestone! But one of my favorites was when they said Momma and I love you

  60. It would have to be my daughter being afraid of water. Even bath time was a huge fight. We signed her up for private swimming lessons and it was the best thing ever for her. No more fear of the water.

  61. My son didn’t start walking until he was 18 months old. I remember the day it happened. I just happened to be on the phone with my mom and he let go of the couch and walked across the room. I couldn’t believe it and started shouting into the phone that he was walking. It was great.

  62. My son recently had to start wearing glasses. He is only 2 1/2, so I wasn’t sure how cooperative he would be. He stepped up like the amazing little man he is and wears his glasses all the time. I am so proud 🙂
