At times when God speaks, it’s a still small voice…sometimes even a whisper. And it’s at times like these that He invites us to be still and know that He is God (Psalms 46:10).

Nagging wife…BE GONE! ( Day 12)

.

She opens her mouth with wisdom,  And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

(Proverbs 31:26)

.

To nag is to find fault with, badger, annoy, irritate, pester, plague or provoke.

.
If I asked you, just randomly, in a marriage, who you’d say the nagging partner is….you’d answer (if being truthful)…the wife.
We’ve heard enough jokes about a nagging wife…what’s scary is a majority of us (if not all of us) have that nagging, contentious, quarrelsome skeleton hidden inside our closets that may not pop out all the time but lo and behold there are those days when it makes its unwelcome appearance!

.
When confronted about “this issue”, we’re quick to retort that our husbands just happen to push those wrong buttons and hey, you just can’t help it …..but guess what? We might be able to convince the world with that excuse….but God says otherwise!

.

While looking through my study Bible on this topic I was shocked at the number of times ‘a contentious or quarrelsome woman’ has been mentioned. Pull out your Bible and read these verses-Proverbs 27: 15, Proverbs 21:9, Proverbs 21: 19 , Proverbs 25:24 and Proverbs 19:13.
.
When something is repeated in the Bible more than just two or three times, I say God wants us to pay particular attention to that verse.

In this case He really means business!

.

.
We can’t forcibly rid ourselves of that nagging, quarrelsome, critical, contentious spirit overnight but by giving this desire to change into God’s Hands, praying this through each day and by reading God’s Word, we WILL see a change.

The change may be gradual, very inconspicuous at first…but there WILL be a change!

You may not be the one to see it but others around (oh yes, Hubby first!) will see you radiate a ‘God pleasing spirit’ saddled by loving speech and harnessed by a controlled tongue as the days roll by.

I

I pray that you will find comfort, encouragement and hope as you lean close to listen to God’s Whisper for your situation today.

Be blessed!

A big thank you to The Nester for triggering off a desire within me to do this…
I’m excited to see what God will do through this!
