Some memories have to be captured, preserved and re-lived.

There are some moments in one’s life that just needs to be frozen for posterity’s sake.

I honestly feel sad for my grandparents. Their accomplishments were never captured on camera let alone film. They just had to rely on their memory banks to describe special moments as descriptively as possible for their grand-kids.

And then after re-counting a special moment in length, I’m sure they would have wondered if the little faces bought their stories or wondered…

did it really happen or did Grand-Pop just spin a fabricated yarn?

All I can say is…

thank God we live in the age of technology!

Re-living a special memory.

In mid December 2010 our family did our annual “must-do-SeaWorld-San Antonio-during-the-Christmas-festivities” visit. And yes, as always, the Shamu show was the one my daughter was looking forward to the most.

What we didn’t know then was that this show would be one of a kind for my then 5 year old.

As we waited patiently for the show to begin in our “Splash-Zone” seats near the front,  one of the trainers walked up to us. She asked if Bunny girl would like to come up and help her during the show.

Would she?

OH YES!

Not knowing what to expect, Hubby chose to sit up front with her while I waited on higher drier ground,  wearing a sleeping Bunny Boo in his baby carrier.

The show began as usual. The audience ooh-ed and aah-ed, clapped to the beat, Shamu did his thing and then Bunny girl’s moment arrived…

A moment that was captured in time.

A moment preserved for her grand-kids to watch in amazement.

All our kids have special Memories. Would you tell me something special he/she has experienced/enjoyed?

  1. Isn’t amazing what we can do now with technology? I’ve been scanning in old family photos and uploading them to social networks so my extended family all over the world can see/share them.
