There are some moments in one’s life that just needs to be frozen for posterity’s sake.
I honestly feel sad for my grandparents. Their accomplishments were never captured on camera let alone film. They just had to rely on their memory banks to describe special moments as descriptively as possible for their grand-kids.
And then after re-counting a special moment in length, I’m sure they would have wondered if the little faces bought their stories or wondered…
did it really happen or did Grand-Pop just spin a fabricated yarn?
All I can say is…
thank God we live in the age of technology!
Re-living a special memory.
In mid December 2010 our family did our annual “must-do-SeaWorld-San Antonio-during-the-Christmas-festivities” visit. And yes, as always, the Shamu show was the one my daughter was looking forward to the most.
What we didn’t know then was that this show would be one of a kind for my then 5 year old.
As we waited
patiently for the show to begin in our “Splash-Zone” seats near the front, one of the trainers walked up to us. She asked if Bunny girl would like to come up and help her during the show.
Not knowing what to expect, Hubby chose to sit up front with her while I waited on
higher drier ground, wearing a sleeping Bunny Boo in his baby carrier.
The show began as usual. The audience ooh-ed and aah-ed, clapped to the beat, Shamu did his thing and then Bunny girl’s moment arrived…
A moment that was captured in time.
A moment preserved for her grand-kids to watch in amazement.
A moment, thanks to YesVideo’s memory preserving services, that can be re-lived all over again without worrying the video would one day breathe its last run.
Preserving it all
To celebrate Bunny girl’s 7th birthday, we plan to use YesVideo’s services again to put together a DVD featuring special moments like this from the past 7 years. Knowing that all the videos we send in will be stored safely in a dedicated online account in the cloud, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I really hope I will be around to see the look on her grand-kids faces when they see all the awesome things their Grand-Mama experienced in the first 7 years of her life!!
